The Laie Hawaii Temple is considered a literal house of the Lord by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The principal purpose of the temple is to provide ordinances and blessings to members in the Oakland area. Ordinances include endowment, marriage, and baptism.
Only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with an active temple recommend are allowed to enter the inside of the Laie Hawaii Temple.

The Visitors’ Center offers free tours led by helpful missionary guides. They are volunteers that come from all around the world to give service to you and your loved ones. They collectively speak many different languages, so just ask them if you have a certain language you feel most comfortable conversing in. These missionaries are expert guides who will help you have a personalized and unique experience at the Laie Hawaii Temple Visitors’ Center.

You can get Church materials and clothing at the distribution center. There is a large selection of Bibles, copies of the Book of Mormon, and Triple Combinations. We also have hymn books, “Come Follow Me” and self-reliance manuals, children’s story books, Church magazines, small pictures, and more.
